Brian S. Starr, M.A., CCC-SLP


Brian Starr graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 1989 with a B.S. in Speech Communications. He then received his Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Hofstra University in 1993, while earning the coveted Joan Fox award for academic and clinical excellence. In 1994, he ascertained his Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Mr. Starr completed his fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he went on to serve as their Senior Speech-Language Pathologist for the next 10 years.

He currently serves as chief of Speech-Language Pathology for Huntington Hospital, a North Shore University Hospital affiliate.
He also owns a private Speech-Language Pathology practice in the town of Huntington, NY. Mr. Starr's practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adult communication disorders as well as oral and/or pharyngeal swallowing disorders.
Mr. Starr has over 20 years experience with conducting Modified Barium Fluoroscopic Swallowing studies, and is a certified Vital Stimâ„¢ provider. Mr. Starr is regarded as an expert in the field of oropharyngeal swallowing disorders, and lectures extensively on this subject matter.
